:: 1954 :: William R. Davis, Sales Engineer for the Jervis B. Webb conveyor company lands a large sale, takes the commission in 12 monthly installments and fulfills his dream of starting his own company Davis Material Handling Co.
:: 1961 :: Having worked the previous summer for the family business, Bruce G. Davis graduates from Oregon State University and becomes a salesman for Davis Material Handling Co.
:: 1967 :: William sells the company to Bruce.
:: 1968 :: A separate warehouse facility is leased in Downtown Los Angeles for rail car shipments of pallet storage racks.
:: 1974 :: An office and warehouse are purchased; combining the sales office and warehouse at 5000 Valley Blvd. This provides us with 13,000 square feet of warehouse and 3,500 square feet of sales office. A truck well was shortly added to receive shipments via truck.
:: 1976 :: The company is incorporated as Eagle Material Handling Co., dba Davis Material Handling Co., Inc.
:: 1978 :: William R. Davis retires at the age of 76 and Judy Davis starts working full time with the company.
:: 1980 :: Manufacturing of Ridg-U-Rak uprights is started with factory purchased parts.
:: 1982:: Judy Davis is elected president of the corporation and stock is transfered making Davis Material Handling Co. a woman owned business. An 800 phone number is established and the first fax machine is purchased.
:: 1994 :: The assets of Bacon Brothers Equipment Co., another 50 year old industrial equipment company, are purchased. The company changed its name to Davis Bacon Material Handling Co., Inc.
:: 1997 :: Nick Davis joins the family business.
:: 1998 :: The assets of Dockmasters, Inc., a 25 year old dock equipment dealership, are purchased and moved to 5000 Valley Blvd and established under the Corporation to operate as a separate company.
:: 1999 :: Expansion continued with the acquisition of Date Material Handling, another dock equipment dealership. This begins the establishment of a service fleet of 3 vehicles. Additional property is purchased adding another 12,000 square feet of warehouse space.
:: 2005 :: The land that Davis Bacon Material Handling has occupied for 31 years was condemed by the city of Los Angeles. Davis Bacon relocated to another parcel just three miles away. Davis Bacon took the opportunity to expaned its' warehouse and facilities allowing even more capacity for inventory and service vehicles.
